Triumph Over Pain: Martha

Meet Martha, a resilient 64-year-old woman who came to our facility post-laminectomy, seeking rehabilitation for a triumphant return home. Upon arrival, Martha faced challenges with increased swelling along her right paraspinals and intense pain, necessitating a back brace and standard spinal precautions.

In less than 30 days, she made incredible progress, transitioning from extensive assistance for transfers and non-ambulatory status to achieving independence in transfers and walking with a rollator for 500 feet on her own. Martha underwent a successful evaluation and is now able to return home with the support of home health services while living independently.
