Take a look at the difference we make…

Neuro Gym Sit-To-Stand Trainer uses a counter weight mechanism to provide a safe and effective way to strengthen weight bearing muscles and increase standing stability and endurance.

  • Encourages early weight bearing and active mobilization at hips and knees
  • Improves standing balance and stability to improve transfers
  • Actively assists the standing motion with support at the knee, trunk, and arms to promote early mobility
  • Improves circulation and can add to improved continence and reduced pressure sores

ProForm Recumbent Bike is a low impact exercise bike with customizable settings, used to improve cardiovascular health, alleviate joint pain and build strength and endurance.

Nu Step Cross Trainer delivers a low-impact, total body work out that can benefit users of virtually any fitness level or functional ability.

It is indicated for use with patients rehabilitating from joint replacements as well as patients with chronic health conditions coupled with cognitive decline in order to build strength and cardiovascular endurance to enhance mobility. It is often utilized for orthopedic, neurological, cardiovascular and pulmonary diagnoses.

Diagnoses which may benefit from the use include: CVAs, Cardiovascular Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Diabetes, Osteoarthritis, and Osteoporosis.

Diathermy uses high frequency electric current to stimulate heat generation within body tissues. Diathermy is a non-invasive treatment commonly prescribed for muscle and joint conditions, but is also used to increase blood flow, relieve pain and improve mobility of tissues as they heal.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation (ESTIM) generates electric impulses that stimulate muscles to contract. This strengthens and repairs tissue and muscles that have been shortened, weakened or atrophied due to injury or disease. ESTEM can slow the progression of neuromuscular disorders and improve motor control.

Stroke Recovery

There’s still so much we don’t know about how the brain compensates for the damage caused by stroke. In some cases, the brain cells may be only temporarily damaged, and may resume functioning over time. In other cases, the brain can reorganize its own functioning. Every once in a while, a region of the brain “takes over” for a region damaged by the stroke. Stroke survivors sometimes experience remarkable and unanticipated recoveries that can’t be explained.

Stroke Rehabilitation may mean, in some cases, re-learning basic skills such as bathing, eating, dressing and walking. Our nursing and rehabilitation teams work together with you and your family, to achieve maximum recovery and independence.

Congestive Heart Failure Program

CHF is a condition in which the heart can no longer pump enough blood to the rest of the body. Heart failure is almost always a chronic, long-term condition, although it can sometimes develop suddenly. This condition may affect the right side, left side, or both sides of the heart and can significantly impact quality of life.

Our cardiologists, physicians, nurse practitioners, and dieticians work together with our therapist to develop a care plan that can improve heart function, lesson symptoms, allowing you to lead a more active life.
