COVID-19 Update December 16

12/16/2020 – COVID Update – Since our last update, we have had 15 additional residents and 13 additional staff test positive for COVID.  Currently, we have a total of 21 residents who are in quarantine due to positive tests and 17 staff members in quarantine at home due to positive tests.  We have had a number of both residents and staff who have completed their quarantine period.  As residents recover from COVID and become stable, our therapy staff is screening them to see if they can benefit from therapy services to regain any physical function that they may have lost while sick.  We continue to have staff quarantine at home and quarantine residents who test positive in Red Zones.   Window visits remain on hold at this time and we are only doing virtual visits and phone calls until the outbreak is under control.  COVID testing was completed on Monday 12/14 for staff and Tuesday, 12/15 for residents.  Staff are now being tested twice weekly and will have a second test completed on Thursday, 12/17.  We are utilizing our BD Veritor Rapid Testing machine for those that show symptoms where we need quick results.  We are happy to help you with any questions you may have, please call 717-334-6249 and ask for Patty Weaver, Infection Preventionist or Vickie Kilmer Nursing Home Administrator.
